The T&T Support Centre Phase 2 project was a 51,000 square foot interior for T&T Supermarket Inc’s central kitchen and bakery. The Support Centre plays a vital role as the main distribution hub for T&T Supermarket Inc’s operations in BC’s Lower Mainland region. This unique facility, comprised of a variety of food processing areas enclosed in cooler and freezer panels, presented challenges not found in your typical everyday project.
Key features of the project include specialized refrigeration and kitchen equipment, installing an extension from unit sub to three new 600A 600V 3 Phase and one 800A 600V distribution centres, a complex fire suppression system covering 9 commercial hoods and multiple food processing kitchens, and an intricate rooftop cable tray installation connecting a vast array of mechanical equipment.
Project Location: 6311 Fraserwood Place, Richmond
Project Duration: 13 months
Final Scope: $2M
Project Size: 51,000 sq. ft
The unique refrigeration and production equipment requirements required a significant amount of coordination, collaboration and technical expertise. The use of cooler panel walls presented a unique installation challenge as many factors (penetration sealing, equipment mounting, health approved products, tempered and wet locations, etc.) had to be accounted for during the entire process.
Action Electric personnel were able to rise to the occasion and work effectively with subtrades, consultants, the general contractor and members of the T& T Supermarket Inc’s project management team to come up with solutions for every obstacle. All project milestones were met on time with a consistent high level of workmanship.
Action Electric’s willingness and pro-active response in resolving unexpected problems, as well as the manner in which it was conducted, proved their commitment and loyalty to their clients. It’s been a pleasure working with the Action team and I would not hesitate to use or recommend them to future clients.– T&T Supermarket
