We want to take this opportunity to let you know the procedures we’ve put in place. Our Personal Information Protection Policy sets out ten principles that are observed by Action Electric and its subsidiaries, affiliates and related organizations with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of information about identifiable individuals other than Action Electric employees (a separate policy applies to them).

ACTION ELECTRIC’S ACCOUNTABILITY
Action Electric is responsible for all personal information under its control. Its Privacy Officer is accountable for Action Electric’s compliance with privacy policy.

IDENTIFYING PURPOSES
The purposes for which personal information is collected will be identified by Action Electric at or before the time the information is collected.

CONSENT
The knowledge and consent of the individual express or implied, are required for the collection, use or disclosure of personal information by Action Electric, except where inappropriate.

LIMITING COLLECTION
Action Electric will limit the amount and type of personal information collected to that which is necessary for the purposes identified by Action Electric.

LIMITING USE, DISCLOSURE & RETENTION
Action Electric will not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with the consent of the individual or as required or permitted by law.

ACCURACY
Action Electric will keep personal information as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as possible.

SAFEGUARDS
Action Electric will protect personal information with security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

OPENNESS
Action Electric will be open about its policies and procedures with respect to management of personal information. Action Electric will make this information available in an easy-to-understand form.

INDIVIDUAL ACCESS
Upon a member’s request in writing, Action Electric shall inform a client of the existence, use, and disclosure of his or her personal or corporate information and the client shall be given access to that information, except where the law requires or permits Action Electric to deny access.

CHALLENGING COMPLIANCE
An individual will be able to direct a challenge concerning compliance with the above principles to the designated individual or individuals accountable for Action Electric compliance.

Although the laws are relatively new, Action Electric has been following most of the stated requirements for many years. We will continue to take steps to preserve the privacy and security of our clients’ personal and corporate information.
